The most recent survey of self-reported work-related illness estimated that in 2001/02, 1.1 million people in Great Britain suffered from musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) caused or made worse by their current or past work. An estimated 12.3 million working days were lost due to these work-related MSDs. On average each sufferer took about 20 days off in that 12-month period.

This course is essential for anyone whos work relies on repetitve actions that require carring objects, lifting, pulling and pushing.

We follow the ‘All Wales Manual Handling Passport Scheme’ and we teach and practice delegates to lift and carry objects safely. In our opinion this training is not only vital to any business it can affect an employee’s quality of life, and significantly reduce back injury caused through incorrect lifting and carrying.

  • Modules A and B of the All Wales Manual Handling Passport Scheme
  • Responsibilities, Regulations and Legislation
  • The Anatomy of the spine and how injuries occur
  • Safe Lifting Ergonomics
  • Risk Assessment and reducing the risk
  • Practical safe handling of lifting, pulling and pushing loads
